Configuring the extension

Follow these quick steps to set up and configure your fraud detection module.

The Fraud Detector extension allows you to check orders against several of the most common types of fraud.
Orders are automatically reviewed and marked with a corresponding label. If any violations are detected, the order can be placed on hold until it is manually reviewed by a manager.

After installation, follow these steps to configure it:

1. Set base configuration

To get started, open the Configuration settings and provide your Google API key — it’s required to enable Google Maps integration and ensure accurate distance calculations. Next, configure the Geolocation settings by selecting the preferred distance unit and defining how the customer’s IP address should be detected. Finally, set up the order behavior rules to automatically block suspicious orders when violations are identified.

2. Check indicators

Navigate to: System -> Fraud detection -> Fraud risk score, and review the built-in indicators. They are preconfigured by default, but you can adjust them to better suit your specific needs.

These steps are enough to start working with our extension. However, if you have specific requirements, proceed to the next step for more advanced configuration.

3. Additionaly configuration with custom rules

To create specific fraud checks, use the custom fraud rules. These rules allow you to extend the verification capabilities and tailor the module to fit your business conditions.
