Configuring the extension
A few steps to quickly set up and optimize your blog.
Blog MX is designed to help you launch a fully functional, SEO-friendly blog directly in your Magento 2 store. Follow the steps below to configure the extension and start publishing content in just a few minutes.
Step 1: Access the blog settings and add storefront blog access
Go to Stores > Configuration > Mirasvit Extensions > Blog MX
Here you’ll find all global settings for your blog, grouped into easy-to-manage sections:
Add storefront blog access. Ensure your blog is visible on the storefront:
- Set Base URL (e.g.,
blog
) – this becomesyourstore.com/blog
. - Enable the All posts page to show a full list of posts.
Step 2: Create a blog author
Before adding a post, you need at least one author .
Go to Content > Blog MX > Authors > Add new author
Fill in:
- Name
- Job title (optional)
- Bio and photo
- Social links (optional)
- Store View visibility
- SEO fields (URL key, meta info)
Click Save Author when done.
Step 3: Create a blog category
Each post must belong to a category .
Go to Content > Blog MX > Categories > Add new category
Set:
- Category name and description
- Parent category (if any)
- Store View
- SEO settings (URL key, meta title/description)
Click Save Category to finish.
Step 4: Create your first blog post
Now you're ready to write your first article!
Go to Content > Blog MX > All posts > Add new post
Fill in the required fields:
- Title and Content (Page Builder supported)
- Author (select from the one you created earlier)
- Category (select at least one)
- Tags (you can add new ones directly)
- Featured image
- SEO fields (URL key, meta title, description)
- Status (set to Published when ready)
Click Save to publish.
Step 5: Optimize SEO
Each post includes a Check content button to analyze:
- Keyword usage
- Meta title/description
- Readability
- Alt text for images
- Link structure
Aim for a high SEO score to improve ranking in search engines.
Step 6: View your blog
Visit the blog frontend by going to:
yourstore.com/blog
(or your custom base URL)
You’ll see the blog homepage with your published post.
Customize layout (optional)
Open the Content > Blog MX > Layout editor
From here, you can customize layout:
- Choose layout types (1-column, 2-columns, etc.)
- Add or remove widgets (like Recent Posts or Tag Clouds)
- Rearrange blocks with drag-and-drop
