How to define customer segments
The goal of customer segmentation is to determine which strategies to apply to each group and to provide customers with the best possible services.
Segmentation allows you to work with customers more effectively. The more customer data you collect and the more diverse the segmentation conditions, the more accurate your segmentation and marketing analysis will be. This enables you to plan your marketing strategy with maximum efficiency.
1. Define goals for each segment
Divide your website’s target audience based on the required parameters. These can include different age groups, male/female, interest groups, or the number of purchased products.
2. Organize your customers into targeted segments
Using the segment section, create several segments by applying the appropriate conditions.
Dividing customers into targeted segments allows you to work with each group individually, taking into account their interests and behavior when creating unique offers. This approach increases the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and simplifies tracking KPIs for each target audience.
At the same time, a single customer can belong to multiple segments, making this method far more flexible compared to using the default Magento customer groups.
3. Refresh the segment
Update the segment to add customers to it. Segments can be refreshed either automatically via cron or manually.
