How to configure ranking factor
This guide describes how to create and configure ranking factor.
To create a sorting criterion navigate to System -> Ranking Factors -> Add new.
1. Set general information
Select the Type of the ranking factor from the dropdown and define the Name. To enable the ranking factor immediately after being created, switch the position of the Active slider.
Next, click Save and continue edit button. Additional configurations will appear depending on the selected type of the ranking factor. To learn more about types of ranking factors and related options, refer to ranking factors page.
2. If required, make it global
Switch the Global slider to make the ranking factor global. Next, define the influence of the factor on the overall sorting score by setting Weight parameter.
3. Implement changes
Save the ranking factor and execute a reindex to make the factor available for use by the extension; otherwise, it will not be visible when creating sorting criteria. Reindex for a ranking factor can be executed by clicking Reindex button in edit menu or through the dropdown menu in ranking factors list, where the newly created factor is added. Reindexing via a command line interface may be required additionally.
