Inventory Planner Extension for Magento 2 User Manual

The Inventory Planner extension is designed to optimize product stock for your store. It automatically identifies shortages and excess inventory, and alerts you in advance when replenishment is needed—helping reduce delivery delays for customers.

Who should use this manual​

It is primarily intended for administrators, Magento store owners, and procurement managers who ensure timely product replenishment in warehouses.

  • Auto reorder plans: compute Recommended Reorder Date and Recommended Order Qty per SKU using lead time, sales velocity, target stock cover, and safety stock.
  • PO prioritization: sort by days to stockout, margin, or revenue to decide what to buy first.
  • Batch purchasing: plan replenishment by category/brand for the next 7/30/90 days (seasonality/campaign-aware).

Stockout prevention​

  • Early alerts: trigger when Estimated days until out of stock < N.
  • Traffic control: via Automation Rules/webhooks pause ads/widgets for items about to stock out.

Overstock Management​

  • Detect excess stock: compare on-hand vs. overstock time/qty thresholds.
