How to work with Virtual Merchandiser
This page explains how to work with Virtual Merchandiser.
It is a tool used to manage product placement and visual merchandising in the category.
1. Choose the default appearance mode
Select how products will be displayed, as grid or as tiles in Stores -> Configuration -> Virtual Merchandiser. Selected mode will be applied automatically when editing a category, however, it can be switched in category menu anytime by clicking icons near to the pagination of listed products. For more information about the product in Tiles mode, choose additional attributes. Click Save Config button in the top-right corner of the page.
2. Edit the position of products
Locate to the category and change products position by editing the number in the field, by drag&drop, or by clicking the arrows. Outer arrows move the product to the beginning or to the end of the category appropriately, inner arrows switch the product's position with the adjacent one.
3. Apply changes
Click Save button in the top-right corner of the page. Then, clean Magento cache and perform a reindex for the Customer Grid indexer, otherwise, products on the product listing page may not be ordered as intended.
