Cookie groups

Cookie groups are designed to classify cookies based on their purpose. Grouping is crucial for managing user consent and ensuring GDPR compliance.
Our module includes four default cookie groups associated with specific cookie group types:

• Essential - Necessary for the basic functionality and security of the site.
• Marketing - Used for advertising and marketing purposes, including personalized advertising and remarketing.
• Functionality - Used to provide advanced functionality and personalization of the website.
• Statistical - Used for Google Analytics.

You can see the list of all existing cookie groups in your store in Customers -> Cookie consent -> Cookie groups.

To create a new Cookie group, press the Add cookie group button.

General information

• Is active - The status of the group. You can activate or deactivate the group without deleting it.

• Name - The name of the group that will be displayed in the cookie banner.

• Type - Sets the type of the group.

  Note

  Group type is related to Google consent types. Be careful when setting the type, as it can influence the functionality of Google consent.
  You can find more information about it in the Google consent mode V2 section.

• Description - The description of the group that will be displayed in the cookie banner. You can explain here what the cookies in this group are responsible for.

• Is required - If set to Yes, this group will be auto-selected, and customers will not be able to deny consent for this group.

• Priority - Determines the order in which the cookie group will be placed in the cookie banner.

• Store views - Defines which stores this cookie group will be available for.
