Boost Your Daily Workflow

AI Integration connects your AI assistant directly to your store's data and operations. Instead of switching between admin pages, writing queries, or looking up API endpoints, you describe what you need and the AI takes care of the rest.

This page shows practical scenarios where AI can save you time every day.

Sales & order analysis

Get instant insights into your store's performance without building custom reports or exporting data to spreadsheets.

Try asking:

  • "What were my total sales this month compared to last month?"
  • "Break down this week's revenue by payment method, shipping country, and customer group"
  • "Which products generated the most revenue last quarter?"
  • "Find orders placed over 48 hours ago that still haven't been shipped — list them with customer email so I can follow up"
  • "What's our refund rate this month compared to last month? Which products are being returned the most?"
  • "Show me all orders from today that used a coupon code — what was the total discount given?"

The AI picks the best approach for each question — it might run a SQL query for complex aggregations or call the REST API for order details.

Product catalog management

Manage your catalog through conversation — from quick lookups to bulk updates that would take hours to do manually through the admin panel.

Try asking:

  • "Rewrite product names in the 'Running Shoes' category to be more SEO-friendly — include the brand, shoe type, and key feature in each name"
  • "Find summer collection products that had zero sales in the last 30 days and set a special price with 10% discount from their current price"
  • "Which products have descriptions shorter than 50 characters? Generate proper descriptions based on their attributes"
  • "Check which products still have English names in the French and German store views, and translate them"
  • "Show me products in the 'Sale' category whose special price has already expired"
  • "Move all products from the 'Clearance' category to 'Archive' and set them to 'Not Visible Individually'"
  • "List configurable products that have out-of-stock simple variants — which sizes and colors are missing?"

The AI can chain lookups and updates together. For example, it first queries the database to find products matching your criteria, then uses the REST API to update each one — the same way you would through the admin panel, but without the repetitive clicking.

Customer insights

Understand your customer base without writing custom queries or building reports.

Try asking:

  • "Which customers haven't ordered in 90 days but used to order every month? I need a list for a win-back campaign"
  • "Who are my top 10 customers by lifetime order value and how long since their last purchase?"
  • "Show me customers who ordered in December but haven't come back since"
  • "What percentage of our customers are repeat buyers versus one-time purchasers this year?"
  • "Which customers have items in their wishlist that are now on sale? I want to notify them"
  • "Show me customers from Germany who placed orders over €200 — I want to send them a loyalty offer"

Inventory & stock monitoring

Keep track of stock levels and catch potential issues before they affect sales.

Try asking:

  • "Based on the last 30 days of sales, which products will likely go out of stock within two weeks?"
  • "Which products are running low on stock but have high sales velocity this month? I need to prioritize reorders"
  • "Find products where inventory hasn't changed in over 6 months — they might be dead stock we should clear out"
  • "Which products went out of stock this week? Show their recent daily sales so I can estimate lost revenue"
  • "Compare stock quantities across sources — are there products with inventory mismatches between warehouses?" (for multi-source inventory)

Content management

Create and update CMS content without leaving your AI assistant.

Try asking:

  • "Create a CMS block with identifier 'summer-sale-banner' and a promotional message about 20% off"
  • "Rewrite the 'Shipping Policy' page to mention our new next-day delivery option"
  • "Review CMS blocks across store views and find content that hasn't been translated for the French store"
  • "Create a landing page for our Black Friday sale with a hero banner, promotional terms, and a countdown message"

Store audit & data quality

Catch catalog issues, missing data, and configuration problems before they reach your customers.

Try asking:

  • "Check which products in the 'New Arrivals' category are missing meta titles, meta descriptions, or images"
  • "Compare product prices between the US and EU store views — flag any products where the EUR price seems off based on the current exchange rate"
  • "Find categories that are empty or have fewer than 3 products — should we hide them from navigation?"
  • "Are there any products without a tax class assigned?"
  • "Show me URL rewrites that point to products that have been deleted or disabled"

Troubleshooting & diagnostics

When something goes wrong, the AI can help you investigate faster than clicking through admin pages and log files.

Try asking:

  • "Are there any orders from the last 24 hours where payment was authorized but never captured?"
  • "Show me cron jobs that have been stuck in 'running' status for over an hour"
  • "Are there any failed orders from the last hour? Show me the error details"
  • "Show me abandoned carts from the last 7 days worth over $100 — what products were in them?"
  • "Compare the number of orders placed today with the same day last week — is the drop unusual?"
  • "Are there any catalog price rules that expired this week but are still assigned to products?"

Beyond native Magento

The examples above cover Magento's built-in functionality, but AI Integration works with third-party extensions too. If an extension exposes a REST API, the AI can interact with it automatically — no extra setup needed. Extensions can also register their own custom MCP tools for specialized operations that go beyond what REST API or GraphQL provides.

This means the AI assistant can help you manage shipping providers, ERP integrations, marketing platforms, advanced pricing modules, and anything else installed on your store — as long as it has an API.

Tips for getting the best results

Be specific. "Show me the last 10 orders" works better than "Show me orders." Include timeframes, filters, and the columns you care about.

Start broad, then narrow down. Ask a general question first, then refine: "Show me all products" → "Now filter to only configurable products" → "Sort by price, highest first."

Let the AI choose the tool. You don't need to specify whether to use SQL, GraphQL, or REST API. The AI picks the best approach for your question.

Ask for the format you want. "Summarize as a table with columns: SKU, name, price" gives you structured output you can scan quickly.

Chain tasks together. "Find products with expired special prices and remove the special price" — the AI can perform multi-step operations in sequence.

Security and access boundaries

The AI assistant operates within the same permission boundaries as your Magento admin account:

  • Tools are filtered by your role. If your role does not have the Database Reader permission, the AI cannot run SQL queries.
  • REST API endpoints follow ACL. The AI can only call endpoints that your role has access to — the same restrictions as the admin panel.
  • Database tables can be restricted. Administrators can configure which tables the Database Reader can access, both globally and per role.
  • Sensitive data is protected by default. Tables containing admin credentials, OAuth tokens, and session data are blocked out of the box.

For details on configuring permissions, see Configure role permissions.
