Configuring the extension

A few steps to quickly set up and optimize your product labels.

The Product Labels extension allows you to create labels based on specific conditions. Labels can be selectively displayed either on the product page or in the catalog to attract customers’ attention.

After installation, follow these steps to configure it:

1. Create a new placeholder

Open the placeholders list and create a new placeholder.
Add a title, set how many labels can be displayed in this placeholder, and define the order in which they will appear.
Set the label position, activate the placeholder, and save your changes.

2. Create a new label

Open the labels list and create a new label. In the first step, fill in the General section and save your changes to display additional sections where you can configure the conditions and design of the labels. Depending on the selected label type, the available sections may vary.

Complete the additional sections and save your changes. Wait for the Product label index to be reindexed (or run reindexing manually using CLI commands) and clear the site cache.

This is enough for the extension to work. For more advanced configuration, proceed to the next step.

3. Additional settings

If you have the Hyvä theme, you will need to add product labels to the product view templates to override them.

If you have a custom Magento theme, you will need to configure the templates manually. The extension provides a set of predefined templates, but you can also create your own custom template.

You can also configure a manual position for displaying labels. Use this possibility to place the label in a more suitable area of the page.
