Review tags

Tags let you label reviews with short chips - either by hand or automatically with AI - so you and your shoppers can spot patterns across many reviews (e.g. "Runs small", "Great for gifting") without reading every single one.

Manage tags at Marketing -> Advanced Reviews -> Manage Tags.

Tag list​

The grid shows every tag with its Label, Active status, Store View scope, Visibility, and Assignment mode.

Tag settings​

  • Label: the text shown on the tag chip.

  • Active: an inactive tag stops being offered, assigned, and shown - on the storefront and in the admin - but keeps the reviews it is already on. Switching it back on restores them, with no AI re-run.

  • Store View: the store view(s) the tag is available in, or All Store Views.

  • Visibility: who can see the tag:

    • Internal (admin only): the tag is only visible in the admin panel.
    • Public (shown to shoppers): the tag is shown to shoppers as a chip next to every review it is on, and as a filter on the product-page review list.

    Take care when publishing AI-assigned tags to Public - their assignments become shopper-visible.

  • Assignment: how reviews get this tag. A tag is either manual or automatic, never both:

    • Manual (hand-picked on a review): the tag is hand-picked on individual reviews and appears in the manual tag picker.
    • Automatic (assigned by AI): the tag is assigned by AI based on the Auto-assign criteria below, and is hidden from the manual picker.

  • Auto-assign criteria: shown only when Assignment is Automatic. Describe, in plain language, when the AI should apply this tag (e.g. "the reviewer says the item runs small or the fit is tight"). The AI evaluates every approved review against this description.

Test criteria

Use the Test Criteria button (next to Save) to check how the AI reads your current, unsaved criteria against real reviews before running a pass over the whole store. The button is disabled if no AI provider is configured - see AI-Powered review features.
