How to create a PayPal App Project

To configure PayPal Login (Login with PayPal) in your store, navigate to
Configuration, enable PayPal, and fill in the required fields.

Follow the steps below to create and configure your PayPal App.

  1. Log in to PayPal Developer portal using your PayPal business account.
    If you do not have a Business account, you must upgrade — PayPal Login requires it.

  2. In the top menu, navigate to Dashboard -> My Apps & Credentials and set a Live environments for Social Login.

  3. Create a New App Under the Live tab:

    • Click Create App
    • Enter the app name (e.g., PayPal Social Login)
    • Select a sandbox business account if asked (for test mode)
    • Click Create App

This will generate your application with API credentials.

  1. Configure App settings:

    • Under App Settings fill in:

      • App name
      • App logo (optional)
      • Privacy Policy URL
      • User Agreement URL
      • Return URL / Redirect URI

    • Add your Redirect URI to the app. This URI must exactly match the value in your Social Login settings in the Redirect URI field in the Social Login extension configuration.

  2. Scroll to the Log in with PayPal section and enable the toggle Log in with PayPal. Select Email and Profile scopes (minimum required for Social Login).

  3. Retrieve your API credentials. Under the Live app settings, locate Client ID and Secret. Copy these values and paste them into the PayPal configuration section in your Magento Social Login settings.

Your PayPal App Project is now configured and fully ready to be used with Social Login.
