How to show filter cards on category pages
This guide explains how to enable smart filters — a block of clickable cards that take shoppers straight to a pre-applied filter combination — and how to tune the way the block looks. To configure it, go to Stores -> Configuration -> Smart Filters.
After saving the configuration, clear the Magento cache to apply changes.
1. Enable the feature
Select Yes in the Enable smart filters option. This tells the storefront to render the smart filter block on category pages. The cards themselves are created per category — see create a smart filter card.
2. Choose the layout
In Display Settings, set Display mode to either:
- Grid — a fixed, wrapping rows layout, or
- Slider — a horizontal, scrollable strip with navigation arrows.
3. Adjust the appearance
Still in Display Settings, decide whether to Show title and Show image, and fine-tune the Gap between items, Item min-width, Image size, Image border radius, and Title font size.
4. Configure the slider (optional)
If you selected the Slider display mode, use the Slider Settings and Advanced Settings groups to set Slides per view, toggle the navigation arrows and pagination dots, and pick colors for the arrows and dots.
