SEO score checker metrics

The Blog MX SEO Score Checker evaluates your blog post content against key SEO best practices and provides a percentage-based score for each test.

Below is a breakdown of each metric:

Meta information

  • Meta keywords (exist): ensures the meta keywords field is not empty.

  • Meta keywords (length): checks if the number of keywords is appropriate (not too short or too long).

  • Meta title (exist): verifies that the meta title is filled in.

  • Meta title (first keyword appears in the meta title): confirms your primary keyword is used.

  • Meta title (first keyword at the beginning of the meta title): ensures better visibility in search engine results.

  • Meta title (length): validates that the title is not too long or too short (ideal: 50–60 characters).

  • Meta description (exist): checks that the meta description is set.

  • Meta description (first keyword appears in the meta description): improves relevance for search queries.

  • Meta description (length): keeps the description within the recommended length (ideal: ~160 characters).

Content quality

  • Title (exist): verifies that the post has a title.

  • Title (first keyword appears in the title): important for both SEO and readability.

  • Content (exist): checks if the post body has content.

  • Content (words count): verifies there’s enough content to be valuable (ideally 300+ words).

  • Content (first keyword appears in the first paragraph): indicates relevance right from the start.

  • Content (first keyword density): measures how frequently your target keyword appears.

If this score is low, try using your keyword naturally a few more times.

Image optimization

  • Content (image exist): confirms there is at least one image in the post.
  • First keyword appears in the image name: improves image search ranking (e.g., marketing-tips.jpg).
  • First keyword appears in the image Alt tag: boosts accessibility and SEO.

Linking

  • Content (link exist): checks if there’s at least one hyperlink (internal or external).

Adding links helps with navigation, SEO, and reader engagement.

Each metric contributes to the overall SEO score of the post. Aim to keep all scores high for better search engine visibility and content performance.
