Configuring the extension
Get in-depth reports on your customers' behavior while they are shopping using our Google Analytics 4 with GTM extension. Utilize this module to integrate eCommerce Tracking with Google Analytics 4 and identify bottlenecks in the shopping process within your store.
Before you configure the extension, make sure you have both a Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics account set up. These accounts are essential for capturing and analyzing data from your Magento store. Follow the instructions in the How to create Google Tag Manager account and How to create a Google Analytics account sections of our documentation to get started.
Follow these tips to quickly tackle our key features.
1. Enable the GTM extension
Start by enabling the GTM module. This activates GTM features across your store. Without enabling this, the rest of the settings won’t take effect.
2. Get GTM code snippets
Retrieve your GTM code snippets directly from your Google Tag Manager account. These snippets allow you to connect your Magento store with the GTM platform. This connection opens the door to sophisticated tracking setups, enabling you to capture valuable data like user behavior, conversions, and more. Refer to How to get code snippets section of our documentation.
3. Configure the container
Our module simplifies the process of configuring Tag Manager by importing a pre-configured container into your Google Tag Manager. It includes ready-to-use configurations for Google Analytics 4, featuring the most common tags, so you can quickly set up tracking and start sending valuable data to Google Analytics. With this streamlined setup, you’ll save time on manual tag creation, allowing you to focus on analyzing user behavior and optimizing your marketing strategy for better results. Refer to How to import container section of our documentation.
4. Configure Google Ads
Integrate Google Ads with your GTM setup to track ad performance and conversion rates directly from your Magento store. By linking Google Ads, you can fine-tune your ad campaigns based on real-time data, helping you drive more targeted traffic, increase conversions, and reduce ad spend inefficiencies. Refer to How to configure Google Ads section of our documentation.
