Magento Email Templates. How to use your own email template.

36 templates of emails are ?provided by default Magento, such as: new order, ?new shipment, etc.

To edit a any template ?from the Magento Email Templates do the following: go to Admin Panel > System > Transactional Emails > Add New Template.

Then choose the basic template from the drop-down list and change it. For instant, you have changed the template for Sales Email.

Therefore to apply this Magento Email Template go to the tab Admin Panel > System> Configuration> Sales> Sales Email and choose in New Order Confirmation Template created template, that you are going to use in the future.

The email in Magento has good functionality for the needs of any small online store, that does not pay attention to email marketing. The mentioned above functionality has not enough capabilities to be used in email marketing. For instance to create templates with holiday greetings, to remind about not purchaised products in card, to deliver the information about discounts and promo, to reach up sells, cross sells.
