Which Magento 2 Product Labels Extension Is Best?
Prices and features verified: October 2026
Two questions decide the pick
First, what your labels need to react to. Second, where shoppers need to see them.
Every extension here can put a "Sale" or "New" badge on chosen products. The differences start when a label has to follow the catalog on its own: the discount percentage, the stock left, best-selling status, a customer group or a date range. Free editions skip bestseller rules.
All of them show labels on category and product pages. Only some carry them into the cart and checkout, and Hyvä support varies: some include it, others need a separate package.
Labels only display information. None of these extensions changes a price; discounts still come from Magento's catalog and cart price rules.

Where each one earns its place
Mirasvit Product Labels: a label for every attribute option, next to rule labels
$149 on Open Source, $298 on Adobe Commerce and $348 on Cloud.
Strengths
- Attribute labels: one label per option of a dropdown attribute, such as a logo for each brand, without a rule for each
- Rule labels by discount percentage, final price, new-from dates, days since creation, quantity, stock status and category
- Popularity rules: units sold, orders, revenue, views, review count, rating and wishlist count over the last 7, 30 or 90 days or all time
- A dedicated indexer prepares labels in advance, and they are rendered in the page HTML, with AJAX only for configurable swatches; since the 2026 releases, a category page needs one database query for its labels, and labels stay visible during a reindex
- Image, text with variables such as [discount_percent] and [stock_qty], or HTML labels from 12 templates
- Nine positions on the product image, several labels per product with a limit and sort order, and Hyvä built in since 2.6.0
Its limits
- No labels in the cart or checkout, and no GraphQL for headless storefronts
- Label text isn't translated per store view
- Scheduled labels switch on at the next reindex, which runs daily by default rather than at the exact minute
Amasty Product Labels: rules and checkout labels, with extras on subscription
$239 on Open Source, $539 on Adobe Commerce and $839 on Cloud, renewing at $145 a year.
Strengths
- Bestseller, stock, customer group and date conditions
- Image, text and shape labels, with an indexer and cron for scheduled labels
- GraphQL support included
Its limits
- Labels in the cart, mini-cart and checkout, and the Hyvä package, need an active subscription
- PWA support is a separate paid add-on
Mageplaza Product Labels: designs and cart labels at an entry price
$149 for Community and $349 for Enterprise.
Strengths
- 55+ ready-made label designs in text, image and shape
- Bestseller, stock, customer group and date rules, with a rule indexer
- Labels in the cart, and Hyvä support since 4.4.0
Its limits
- No free edition, and no stock-quantity variable in label text
Magefan Product Label: a free Basic edition, with rules in paid editions
Basic is free; Plus is $149 and Extra $199 on Open Source.
Strengths
- Basic: image labels, attribute conditions, preset positions and several labels per product, free
- 100+ label templates; Hyvä support included in the free edition
- Plus adds text labels and bestseller, sale price, "new" and review rating conditions
Its limits
- Customer groups, date scheduling, shape labels and GraphQL need the Extra edition
- No labels in the cart
Aheadworks, BSS and other options
- Aheadworks Product Labels ($169 a year): seven CSS shapes plus image and text labels, stock-range and customer group rules, date scheduling and labels in the cart. Limit: no bestseller condition, and Hyvä needs a separate module.
- BSS Product Labels ($119 on Open Source, $218 on Adobe Commerce, six months of support): more than 1,300 designs, plus an out-of-stock label, customer group and date rules, and labels in the cart. Limit: Hyvä needs a separate module, and the rule builder has no bestseller or stock-quantity condition.
- MageDelight, Meetanshi and Landofcoder also sell label extensions, at $149, $99 and a promotional $0 respectively.
Free modules: WeltPixel and Magendoo
- WeltPixel Product Labels (free, MIT): image and text labels with CSS, customer groups and dates, discount and stock variables, and two indexers. Limit: no Hyvä support, and its latest release ships in WeltPixel's paid bundles; the free GitHub copy got it once, as a security fix.
- Magendoo ProductLabels (free, OSL-3.0): text badges for "New" and "On sale", with an indexer and GraphQL. Limit: released in July 2026 with a single commit, Luma only.

Frequently asked questions
Which Magento 2 product labels extension is best?
It depends on what the labels must react to and where they must show. For labels in the cart and checkout, Amasty ($239) and Mageplaza ($149). For one label per brand or other attribute option, Mirasvit ($149). To start free, Magefan Basic.
Is there a free product labels extension for Magento 2?
Yes. Magefan's Basic edition is free and supports Hyvä, but text labels and bestseller rules need its paid Plus edition. WeltPixel Product Labels is free under MIT without Hyvä support, and WeltPixel doesn't commit to publishing future releases outside its paid bundles. Magendoo ProductLabels is free and minimal: "New" and "On sale" text badges on Luma.
Can labels show the discount percentage or the stock left?
Yes, in most of them. Mirasvit uses variables such as [discount_percent] and [stock_qty] in label text; Amasty and Aheadworks have discount and stock variables too, and Mageplaza has discount variables. Magefan adds them in its Plus edition, and free WeltPixel has {DISCOUNT_PERCENT} and {QTY}. Magendoo has neither.
Do product labels show in the cart and checkout?
In Mageplaza, Aheadworks and BSS, yes; in Amasty, with an active subscription. Mirasvit, Magefan, WeltPixel and Magendoo show them in product listings and on product pages, not in the cart or checkout.
Do product labels slow down category pages?
Usually not, if labels are prepared in advance. Mirasvit, Amasty, Mageplaza, Aheadworks and WeltPixel use an indexer to work out which product gets which label before the page is built, and Mirasvit renders labels in the page HTML with AJAX only for configurable swatches. In our own support tickets, slowdowns came from large multi-store catalogs, and the 2026 releases cut label lookups to one query per category page.
What do stores use product labels for?
In reviews of Mirasvit Product Labels, the most common use is marking sales and discounts, followed by free shipping badges, badges taken from product attributes such as a brand or feature, and out-of-stock notices. "New" labels and stock counts come up less often.
What usually goes wrong after installing a labels extension?
Of 86 support tickets about our labels extension over the past two years, the most frequent were errors after an update, a label that shows on category pages but not on the product page (usually the theme's image gallery), and a discount percentage that doesn't match the price shown (special prices and catalog price rules counted differently). Next came reindex time on large catalogs and Hyvä setup. After an update, check those first.
When should you choose another extension instead of Mirasvit?
Choose Mageplaza or Amasty if you need labels in the cart and checkout. Choose Amasty if you run a headless or PWA storefront that needs labels over GraphQL. Choose Magefan Basic if a free edition is enough, and BSS or Magefan if a large ready-made design library matters more than rules.
Can a label change the product price?
No. Label extensions display information such as a discount; the discount itself comes from Magento's catalog or cart price rules. If a label shows a percentage, it reads it from the price rules you already have.
